I use integrative approaches in my counselling, which means that I have working knowledge of a very wide range of therapies and interventions. This enables me to tailor a personalised approach to best meet each individual's needs and ensure progress towards the outcomes we are seeking to achieve. This includes well respected tecniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focused on thoughts and behaviours, Humanistic therapy adressing self-awareness and personal growth, and Psychodamic therapy exploring unconscious patterns of behaviour. Furthermore, I use specific techniques to build rapport, trust and open dialogue, including mindfulness therapies.

Clients can expect a warm, open and trusting relationship. A carefully-paced dialogue and practical therapeutic actions will contribute towards an effective and rewarding programme to manage change.

Client range

I am pleased to work with a diverse range of clients both in the UK and internationally. I have experience of working with children and adults from many different backgrounds. I thrive on working with diverse client groups, including those with varied cultural, religious and other beliefs.

Areas of expertise

I have experience of delivery in a range of settings and circumstances. I have worked in school and college settings with students from age 5 years through to 40 plus, delivering both 1:1 and in groups. I have also run workshops for staff, including awareness-raising on recognising and responding to mental ill-health.

I have a particular specialism in men's mental health and adolescence. As a male practitioner in a field where delivery is often female-led, I feel strongly that there is an important role for me to play in supporting effective access to therapeutic and counselling services from which boys and young men in particular can benefit.
